Webflow vs Framer in 2026: Prices, CMS Limits and Which One Fits Your Team

Webflow and Framer are the two visual builders design-led teams shortlist most, and each maker has published a page explaining why it wins. We read both, plus the pricing pages and Webflow's notes on its May 2026 plan change, on 22 October 2026. Here is where they really differ, what two years costs, and how to choose.

Webflow vs Framer in 2026: Prices, CMS Limits and Which One Fits Your Team

Key takeaways

  • Framer is cheaper to start, Webflow holds more content. Framer Basic is $10 a month and Pro $30, billed yearly. Webflow Basic is $15 and Premium $25, billed yearly. Webflow Premium includes 40 CMS collections and 20,000 items; Framer Pro includes 10 collections and 2,500 items before add-ons.
  • Webflow's cheapest paid plan has no CMS, and Framer's does. Framer Basic includes 2 collections and 1,000 items. Webflow Basic is for static sites, with 300 pages.
  • Team seats change the sum. Framer charges $20 a month per extra editor and $10 per content editor on top of the site plan. Webflow sells seats through separate Workspace plans.
  • Some Webflow sites change price on 16 November 2026. Webflow's help centre says the May 2026 plan changes reach sites in Freelancer and Agency Workspaces, and some sites on legacy pricing, from that date.
  • Pick Framer for a design-led marketing site with a modest amount of content that designers will keep editing. Pick Webflow for a content-heavy site, a class-based design system, ecommerce or deeper developer work.

The short answer

Choose Framer if your site is mostly designed pages, your designers want to edit on a free canvas, and you will publish dozens of CMS items rather than thousands. Choose Webflow if the site will grow into a library of articles, case studies or locations, if you want a structured class system that several people maintain, or if you may sell online from the same site.

Both are capable production platforms. Most of the difference shows up after launch: who edits the site, how much content it holds, and what the team seats cost.

Who is writing: Amariq works in Webflow and in Framer; Rahat Khondokar, who founded the studio, holds the Webflow developer certification. We sell work on both, so we have no reason to push you to one, but read it knowing a studio wrote it. Every price and limit below comes from Webflow's or Framer's own pages on 22 October 2026, priced in USD.

What each maker says about the other

Both companies publish a comparison page, and reading them side by side is useful because each one concedes something.

Framer's page says Framer suits design-led teams that want agents working on an editable canvas, and that Webflow suits teams that prefer a class-based design system, "larger self-serve CMS limits, code export, and a broader developer platform." It also notes that Webflow code export does not include working CMS or ecommerce features.

Webflow's page says Framer is "great for smaller teams with basic use cases," and argues Webflow is the better platform for marketing teams that want to personalise and test, with roles, permissions and publishing workflows. It describes Framer as offering no API endpoints.

That last claim does not match Framer's own comparison page, which lists "code components, plugins, APIs, and External Agents." If an integration matters to you, check Framer's developer documentation for the specific job rather than relying on either sales page.

Notes from the pages:

  • Framer's limits can be raised on Pro with paid add-ons: $40 per 10 extra collections, $20 per 10,000 extra items, $40 per 100 GB of bandwidth and $20 per 100 extra pages, according to its pricing table.
  • Framer says applicable sales tax is added at checkout based on your location. Webflow says all prices are in USD, per site, with applicable taxes added at checkout.
  • Webflow's Premium plan took over from the old CMS and Business plans in mid-May 2026 (13 May for new purchases). Its help centre says the CMS plan moved from 2,000 to 20,000 items and from 20 to 40 collections, and its price moved to $25 a month yearly or $39 monthly.
  • Ecommerce: Webflow has native ecommerce plans. Framer's comparison page does not list ecommerce among its features.

Two years of site plans

This is our arithmetic from the prices above, for one site on yearly billing, without a domain or add-ons.

Set-upMonthlyTwo years
Framer Basic$10$240
Framer Pro$30$720
Framer Pro plus one content editor ($10)$40$960
Framer Pro plus one full editor ($20)$50$1,200
Webflow Basic$15$360
Webflow Premium$25$600
Webflow Premium, billed monthly$39$936

The Webflow rows leave out Workspace seats, because Webflow sells those separately and we did not get a clean reading of its Workspace table on the day. Zapier's comparison, updated 21 October 2026, lists Webflow full editors at $39 a month and content editors at $15. Treat that as second-hand until you see it on Webflow's page.

The pattern: for one designer editing a small site, Framer is cheaper. Once you need a CMS with more than a few hundred items, Webflow Premium at $25 does more than Framer Pro at $30. For a team of several editors, price the seats on both before you compare.

What the ranking pages miss

We read the pages Google showed for this search on 22 October 2026: both makers' comparisons, Zapier, Mercury, ecomm.design, Flowout, Velox Themes and a Reddit thread. Zapier's, updated the day before, is accurate on prices. Two gaps remain across them:

  1. Old numbers still circulate. Flowout's comparison lists Webflow "from $18/month," a figure from before the May 2026 change, and gives Framer Pro a 1,000 item cap per collection, while Framer's pricing page shows 2,500 items on Pro.
  2. The 16 November date is missing. None of the comparisons we read mentions that some Webflow sites, those in Freelancer or Agency Workspaces and some on older legacy pricing, move to the new plan prices from 16 November 2026. If a studio built your Webflow site and hosts it in its Workspace, ask what your plan will cost after that date. Webflow's help centre also says switching to yearly billing before your change date can lock the current plan for one more year.

Moving between them

Framer's comparison page describes a move from Webflow as a planned migration: export content and assets, list the CMS fields, rebuild components and templates, and keep important URLs with redirects. The same applies in the other direction. Budget it as a rebuild with a content move, and keep a redirect for every changed address, following the redesign SEO checklist we keep.

Considering a simpler builder too? our Squarespace, Webflow and Framer comparison adds Squarespace to the mix, and our Webflow cost guide covers what a build adds on top of the plan.

How we work on both

At Amariq we design sites and build them on Webflow or Framer, and we choose the platform from how your team will run the site after launch. Going by our service pages, Framer marketing sites usually take two to five weeks once the design is signed off, and Webflow builds three to six. Each project is priced from its scope, not by the hour, with a 40% deposit, a further 30% at sign-off on the design and the final 30% ahead of going live. After that final instalment, the design, copy and code are yours, and the domain, hosting and analytics accounts are registered to you. More on our Webflow service and Framer service pages.

Frequently asked questions

Is Framer better than Webflow?

For a design-led site with modest content that designers edit themselves, often yes: it is quicker to work in and cheaper to start. For a content-heavy site, a shared design system, ecommerce or code export, Webflow is the better fit.

Is Framer cheaper than Webflow?

At the entry level, yes: Framer Basic is $10 a month and Webflow Basic $15, billed yearly. For a CMS site, Webflow Premium at $25 costs less than Framer Pro at $30 and holds more items. Editor seats can change the total on both.

Which has the better CMS?

Webflow holds more: 40 collections and 20,000 items on Premium, against 10 collections and 2,500 items on Framer Pro before add-ons. Framer's CMS sits on the same canvas as the design, which some teams find easier for visual pages.

Is Webflow or Framer better for SEO?

Both give you control of titles, descriptions, addresses and redirects on the right plan, and both host on a CDN. Framer lists site redirects on Pro, not on its Basic card, so check the plan before you move a site that already ranks.

Can I export my code from Framer?

Framer's own comparison page credits Webflow, not Framer, with code export. Webflow's export does not include working CMS or ecommerce features, per Framer's page, so neither is a clean way to leave.

What changes for Webflow sites on 16 November 2026?

Webflow's help centre says the plan changes announced for May 2026 reach sites in Freelancer or Agency Workspaces, and some sites on older legacy pricing, from that date. Existing sites move at their next renewal or billable change.

Which is easier to learn?

Most designers find Framer quicker to pick up because it works like a design canvas. Webflow asks you to think in classes and page structure, which takes longer to learn and pays off when several people maintain one system.
