About the Project

Zen Space Maker Inc. is a Brooklyn-based design & fabrication studio that specializes in custom engineered loft beds and space-optimizing living solutions for NYC apartments. With over 15 years of experience and 250+ installations across New York City, they are known for quality craftsmanship, precision engineering, and space transformation.

They approached Amariq to redesign and restructure their web presence to better reflect their expertise, improve clarity, and drive more qualified leads online.

The Challenge

Zen Space Maker Inc. already had a visually appealing website and a strong reputation built on years of craftsmanship and successful installations across New York City. The design itself was not poor, but the website was failing to perform as a business asset.

Over time, the company noticed a serious decline in performance. Website conversions were dropping by nearly 50% month after month, and most visitors were leaving the site after only a few scrolls without taking any action.

Several issues were contributing to this:

• The messaging did not clearly communicate authority or engineering expertise

• Visitors could not easily understand the process or what to expect next

• Pricing expectations and service structure felt ambiguous

• The contact form was not designed with conversion in mind

• Key trust signals and decision-making information were not emphasized

As a result, even though Zen Space Maker had a proven track record and strong customer satisfaction, the website was creating friction instead of guiding visitors toward starting a project.

In a competitive NYC home-solution market, where customers are making high-trust decisions, the website needed to do more than look good. It needed to build confidence, communicate credibility, and guide visitors toward taking the next step.

Solution & Approach

Rather than treating the project as a simple website redesign, we approached it as a full strategic repositioning of the digital experience.

The process began with an in-depth strategy session with the founder, Sander Elias Hicks, where we focused on understanding the business at its core before making any design decisions.

We asked fundamental questions about:

• The long-term vision of the company

• The exact pricing structure and service model

• The type of clients they wanted to attract — and the ones they preferred to avoid

• The keywords and search intent through which potential customers should discover them

• The desired brand positioning within the NYC market

This discovery phase allowed us to align the website with the actual business strategy, not just visual preferences.

Strategic Positioning

Based on the insights gathered, we redefined the website’s positioning to clearly communicate Zen Space Maker’s expertise in engineered loft bed systems rather than generic furniture solutions.

Messaging was restructured to emphasize craftsmanship, precision, and long-term durability — reinforcing the credibility built over more than two decades of experience.

Conversion & UX Optimization

We systematically removed friction points that were causing visitors to leave the site.

Key improvements included:

• Restructuring the layout to create a clear narrative flow

• Fixing broken visual hierarchy and inconsistent sections

• Designing a conversion-focused contact form that collects the right project information while filtering out low-quality leads

• Creating clearer pathways for visitors to move from discovery to consultation

The result was a website that guides visitors toward action instead of overwhelming them with information.

Technical SEO & Future Growth

Beyond design and UX, the website was also prepared for long-term discoverability.

We implemented:

• Technical SEO foundations

• Search Engine Optimization (SEO) structure

AEO (Answer Engine Optimization) to support AI-driven search experiences

• Google Search Console for faster indexing

• Google Analytics for performance tracking

In addition, we provided the founder with a clear organic growth roadmap, including recommendations for content strategy, social media positioning, and long-term authority building.

The goal was not just to launch a better website, but to build a digital foundation capable of positioning Zen Space Maker as the leading loft-bed engineering brand in New York City.

Design & Implementation

The design direction was built around precision, clarity, and restraint, reflecting the engineered nature of Zen Space Maker’s loft bed systems.

Rather than relying on decorative visuals, the design focuses on structured layouts, confident typography, and disciplined spacing to communicate craftsmanship and credibility.

Typography was selected to feel bold, modern, and architectural, reinforcing the sense of engineered precision behind each installation. The color system remained minimal and neutral, allowing the work itself to take visual priority while maintaining a sophisticated and durable aesthetic.

Layout structure was carefully redesigned to guide visitors through a clear progression:

headline → supporting explanation → proof of craftsmanship → call to action.

The hero section was rebuilt to immediately establish authority and communicate the core value proposition within the first seconds of interaction. Supporting sections then expand on services, the design process, portfolio work, and client testimonials to strengthen trust and reduce hesitation.

From a technical standpoint, the website was implemented in Webflow with a structured and scalable architecture, ensuring fast performance, responsive behavior across devices, and easy long-term content management.

Every design and implementation decision was guided by a single goal:

reduce ambiguity, increase trust, and move visitors confidently toward starting a project.

Results & Impact

The new website immediately began performing as a true business asset rather than just an online brochure.

Within the first week after launch, the founder reported securing a $15,000 project from a new client, with the entire inquiry process happening smoothly through the new system.

The improved contact form now collects all the necessary project details upfront, allowing the team to understand the client’s needs before even starting the conversation. This significantly reduced back-and-forth communication and eliminated much of the friction that previously slowed down the sales process.

Several improvements became noticeable quickly:

• The website loads faster and performs more smoothly across devices

• Visitor engagement has increased, with users spending more time exploring the site

• The new conversion-focused form significantly improved lead quality

• Spam submissions and fake contact details are now effectively filtered

• Potential clients now arrive with clearer expectations about the project

Overall, the new digital experience now aligns with the precision, credibility, and craftsmanship that Zen Space Maker is known for.

Instead of losing potential customers after a few scrolls, the website now builds confidence, qualifies serious inquiries, and supports the company’s growth as a leading loft-bed engineering brand in New York City.

Brand Guidelines

To support the new positioning, we introduced a clean and disciplined brand system designed to reflect the premium nature of Zen Space Maker’s work.

Instead of relying on multiple colors or decorative elements, the visual language was intentionally simplified to create a luxury, confident presence. The brand now uses a restrained color approach built around a white foundation with black typography and black call-to-action elements. This minimal palette reinforces sophistication and ensures that the craftsmanship of the installations remains the primary visual focus.

This approach also aligns with the company’s target audience. Zen Space Maker serves homeowners looking for high-quality engineered solutions, not mass-market furniture. The visual identity therefore avoids flashy colors and instead communicates precision, trust, and architectural clarity.

For typography, we selected Host Grotesk as the primary typeface. Its modern grotesk structure provides a balance of technical clarity and premium character, making it well suited for a brand positioned around engineered design and craftsmanship.

Together, the simplified color system, structured typography, and disciplined layout approach create a consistent visual language that feels modern, trustworthy, and long-lasting, mirroring the philosophy behind Zen Space Maker’s products themselves.
